DATA FRAMEWORK

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Animeista's Privacy Policy explains how and why we collect, use, and share information about you when you access or use our Services. By using the Services, you consent to the collection and use of this information as set out below.

Private data we receive and collect

When you create an Animeista account and use the Services, we collect some personal data about you, such as:

  • Your full name, username, email address and other contact details.
  • A unique Animeista user ID assigned to you upon registration.
  • Other optional information as part of your account profile.
  • Your IP address and, when applicable, timestamps related to your consent.
  • Other information you or your organizational representatives submit to us.
  • User-generated content — messages, posts, comments, profiles, images, feeds or communications exchanged on the Services.
  • Images or other files you publish via our Services.
  • Information we receive relating to communications you send us, such as queries or comments.

Federated logins (Google & Facebook)

You can register and sign in to Animeista using your existing Google or Facebook account instead of creating a separate username and password.

This is possible because Animeista and these platforms act as joint controllers of the processing of your personal data — they confirm your identity, and we provision your Animeista account accordingly.

With your consent, Animeista obtains your username, image and email address from these platforms to register you. These platforms also collect online and device identifiers (such as your IP address or advertising ID) and record the date and time you use their login.

Please note: correcting or deleting your data in your Animeista account does not automatically correct or delete your data on the platforms you used to authenticate — you'll need to contact them directly to exercise those rights.

Transaction & digital asset data

When you subscribe to Animeista Premium or purchase digital items (like avatar decorations), we collect data related to these transactions, including:

  • Transaction identifiers: unique IDs provided by Apple or Google to verify your purchase.
  • Subscription status: plan type, start and end dates, and renewal status.
  • Virtual inventory: a record of digital items linked to your account for cross-platform access.
Note on payment processing: we do not collect or store your credit card or financial account numbers. All payments are processed securely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Entitlement mapping

To provide secure cross-platform access to your purchases, we link your platform-specific transaction identifiers to your Animeista Account ID via secure server-to-server validation — so your premium status and digital items persist across devices and operating systems.

Data retention of purchases

We retain a record of your digital inventory for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, this purchase history will be anonymized or deleted in accordance with our data deletion policy, and access to these items will be revoked.

Information we collect automatically

Animeista also automatically collects information from your computer or mobile device, including the activities you perform on our website, platforms and applications, the type of hardware and software you're using, and information obtained from cookies.

Each time you visit our website or use the Services, we automatically collect your IP address, browser and device type, access times, the page you came from, your general region, and the pages you access.

How Animeista uses your data

We use information about you to:

  • Identify you when you log in to your account.
  • Operate the Services and provide them to you.

  • Keep the Services safe and secure.

We also use non-identifiable, aggregated information to track visits and improve usability across the Services.

Data security and storage

We use secure third-party hosting and cloud infrastructure providers to store and protect your account information and purchase history, and implement industry-standard security measures to prevent unauthorized access and keep your digital assets available across devices.

Child safety commitment

We take the safety and privacy of children very seriously. Animeista is committed to being a safe space for all users, particularly minors, and follows strict standards to protect children from abuse, exploitation and harmful content.

We've implemented in-app reporting tools that let users report content or activity. Our team reviews reports and takes swift action, including removing harmful content and banning offending accounts.
