Synopsis
In the year 2050 AD, Humans live in a world filled with science and electronics, but the "Demon Capital" Shanghai has never been rid of demons. Fortunately, the supernatural Demon Taoists Corporation is here to ensure that neither vampires, demigods, or even trans-cultural literary icons trouble the citizens...at least, for too long. Background
Shanghai Youma Kikai is one of Hiromu Arakawa's first works, a 4-part comedy action 'one-shot' and an attempt at a dark yet humorous tone that carries over to her popular Hagane no Renkinjutsushi. Being as such, fans will recognize early character designs. (Source: MU) The series received two drama CD adaptations; the first was released on March 24, 2006 and the second on April 4, 2007.
