The story of Kaguya and Shirogane is approaching its conclusion. With the airing of the special episode Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Otona e no Kaidan, fans of the series were informed that a new film will bring the Kaguya-sama: Love is War story to a close, although the premiere date has not yet been announced.

Notably, creator Aka Akasaka confirmed that the new film is not an adaptation of the manga, but an entirely original work created by the anime team, presenting a story that has never been seen before. He added that the decision to produce the film was made about four years ago, describing it as a new work with a nostalgic touch.

Anime Information

The manga that inspired the anime was first launched in Miracle Jump magazine before moving to Young Jump. It entered its final arc in 2021 and concluded in November 2022. The anime premiered in January 2019 with 12 episodes.

The story follows Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane, two geniuses who lead the student council at a prestigious academy and gradually fall in love with each other. However, their pride prevents either from confessing first, as doing so would mean losing the “battle of love.” This sets off a clever, humorous rivalry filled with daily schemes and tricks, forming a romantic comedy as both try to make the other confess their feelings first.
